Girlbomb: A Halfway Homeless Memoir (Janice Erlbaum)

Somehow I came across Janice Erlbaum's blog, girlbomb, and figured out from there she'd written a book about her turbulent adolescent years, when she ran away from home and lived in various shelters and group homes, then on her own.

Having mixed feelings about memoirs of wayward teenage girls, I didn't actively seek out this book, but I picked it up at the library when I saw it on the New Releases cart, and I'm glad I did. She writes well and has a great sense of humor, so the book clips right along in a funny and readable way.

Her next book is a novel very much based on her own life, another genre about which I have mixed feelings ...
