Freakonomics (Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner)
July 25, 2006

Interesting, in the way Malcolm Gladwell books are interesting, but very narrow in the way that an economist's point of view can be. Reading to your child or taking him to a museum may not raise his test scores in school, but it doesn't mean the activity is pointless -- which is what the authors imply. Still, full of interesting studies and cocktail party fodder (what crack dealers earn, "high end" vs "low end" baby names, etc.).
