I'm still not sure what I think of Anne Lamott. I liked her book on writing, Bird by Bird, and found it encouraging. Sometimes I think she's funny, sometimes I think she's trying too hard to be funny, sometimes I think she's irreverent and original, sometimes I think she's sloppy.
What's for certain is that she's honest, and that kept me going through this book about her faith -- how she came to it (reluctantly) and how she keeps going with it (day by day).
The best parts were conversations with her son Sam, so I think I'll give Operating Instructions (about her single motherhood) a go.
