Almost last year's book -- I finished it at 1:30 a.m. after watching the local New Year's Eve celebrations. Recommended to me by a friend, I recommended it to my book club but I fear they will be angry with me for it. It's not badly written, but it's dense and slow and too long by a third. Sorry, book club!
