Not exactly a biography, but a book-length profile of Eustace Conway, who runs Turtle Island Preserve, and has outdoor survival skills—and an ego—unrivalled in the U.S. He hiked the Appalachian Trail in loincloth, eating berries and roots. He rode a horse across country. He lived in a teepee for 20 years. He's really, really, really hard to get along with, and at the same time, he really, really, really wants to be liked and loved, which is the tension that makes this book interesting.
