Baby stats: 9 months
August 31, 2007

I looked at my calendar the other day and saw the note "B - 40 weeks." Meaning that soon he will have lived outside of the womb longer than he was in it. That gives me a little twinge of sadness.

He is a big strapping nine month old baby now.

Nine months old.

At the doctor on Wednesday, he weighed 20 lbs 11 oz, and was 29" long. He's bigger than some 1-year-olds we know (especially the girls). He's got six teeth in, three on top and three on bottom. Another just cut through the gums on the top, and I think there are more on the way soon.

He still doesn't crawl though he's been on the verge for a month now. I said the day we moved, "He'll be crawling by the end of the month," but if he doesn't make some major progress today, I'll be wrong.

He eats all kinds of baby food now, loads of fruits and vegetables. He likes to work on his pincer grasp by trying to pick up Cheerios, and he can -- painstakingly -- do it, but he can't get them in his mouth. If I put one in his mouth he's not real sure what to do with it. We're still working on the chewing/swallowing thing.

That is one gorgeous baby. Seriously.
