SOLD! No, really, it's sold.
June 28, 2007
We went to the new house today (still occupied by the seller) to meet a floor refinisher for an estimate. He didn't show. AND we discovered that we get no Cingular (now ATT) service in the house. E got a couple bars when he walked down the block. I don't know how we got this far without realizing that. According to ATT's coverage map we're supposed to get solid, "best" coverage there, so we need to call and find out what gives.
But that wasn't the most disappointing thing. What was the most disappointing thing? They took the realtor's sign out of the front yard, and they never even put "SOLD" on top! So here is a picture of me and the baby holding up the "UNDER CONTRACT" sign in the back yard.

Hmm. Next time I get my picture taken, remind me to iron my pants and, uh, suck in my tummy.
Anyway. Yesterday E's mother told him that he was a lanky, happy-go-lucky baby who was not overly interested in crawling and didn't walk until 13 months. So that explains some things about our lazy mellow, easygoing, relatively low-maintenance offspring.
I was crushed when they never put a sold sign on our house in St. Joe. They said people will still call if there is no sold sign and they can draw them into their parlor.
You do know that E is perfect don'tcha. It's a fact our Mommie told us.
Congrats...that looks like a great house. I can see the positive Virginia vibe coming through already.
Congratulations on your new home! And just when I temporarily relocated to VT. Otherwise, we'd definitely be neighbors. Being a Virginian isn't that bad - speaking from a former Marylander. Over time you just get over it, at least I did.
I also hear you on Cingular/ATT coverage. Mine is HORRIBLE in Arlington. I've had them replace two phones already because I had coverage in my condo there for 4 months and then not at all from then on. They are a total disaster. There are 3 towers within a mile of my condo so it makes no sense. They better get their act together before Arlingtonians ditch them completely.
Thanks also for the photo tips and congratulations :o)
