Because I didn't have the energy to do anything tonight except to lie on the couch and call out for pizza. Correction: I laid (lay? I can never remember) on the couch and got E to call for pizza.
I've been surprisingly not exhausted by the training ... until today. Today was the first day that our new trainers led the training.
And they were fantastic. That's all I have the energy to say right now. They were really, really great. We did not get off to an auspicious start: three participants were late and one never showed up.* We had no electricity for a large chunk of the morning, so a trainer ad-libbed on Internet-related topics for over an hour, until we had power again. The participants' skills were not what we'd expected; we'd been assured that they all had a moderate level of competence with computers and the Internet, but when they arrived, we learned that three did not have email accounts, and one had never used the Internet.
Despite those bumps, our trainers were wonderful. They had everything under control and they got everyone actively participating. We just sat back and watched and made sure lunch was there on time (and hoped we hadn't insulted our trainers' intelligence for the first three days with our "this-is-how-you-plan-a-training" shtick).
*I was annoyed about the no-show until my co-facilitator reminded me that the guy was coming from Timbuktu. Not even Timbuktu -- Bourem Inaly, outside of Timbuktu. I suppose that's an acceptable excuse for being late ...
Oh, and they loved my skirt, which I had made here from Guinean indigo:
They were probably just pleased to see me wearing a skirt; all week I've been wearing pants, something you almost never see on a professional Malian woman. "Vraiment, tu est africainne aujourd'hui!" they said.
