Where in the world is Robin?
June 09, 2005

I'm in sunny Darnestown, Maryland (cool Google satellite map of Darnestown) enjoying my parents' DSL connection. My brother tipped me off to the wifi configuration (thanks P!) so I'm no longer tied to the router upstairs in the office. I can sit here at the kitchen table, or on the screened-in porch ...

It's very green here. When I arrived (a week ago) it was also cold and damp. I had to wear fleece. Now it's in the 90s, just like home!

Let's see ... I've been to a tap-dance recital:

Peered down the alleys in Georgetown:

Sat by the C&O Canal:

Visited the National Gallery of Art:

Undocumented: I got my haircut, got my teeth cleaned, saw Mad Hot Ballroom (see it!). I ate at the Austin Grill, Haandi, Panera, and Chef Geoff's; I ate grilled hamburgers in Del Ray and fish and asparagus in Dupont.

Maybe I should start photographing myself every day so you can see how much weight I put on.

I also saw the first two episodes of season two of The O.C., so drop me a line if you don't get Fox and you want to know what happens ... You know who you are!

Oh, but you had a salad at Chef Geoff's so that doesn't count! It was great seeing you, though a bit hard to catch up on everything with the noise in the restaurant. Hope you're having a fun visit. Have a good trip back home!

P.S. If you would have been back in town one week earlier, I could have subjected you to a soccer game for 4-year olds. Very painful to watch.

Yay for enjoying the States! I love coming home and taking in familiar scents, foods and a warm hug. Hope you enjoy your time as a patriate.
