All I Want for Christmas
December 22, 2004

I just wrote and deleted a really long post chronicling my dental work over the past year. Through some kind of Christmas Miracle I thought better of it, so I'll spare you the details; all you really need to know is that my husband's childhood dentist gave me a new front tooth yesterday. [Cue corny holiday jokes.]

It's not something I was exactly wishing for, at least not until 4:00 a.m. Tuesday when I woke suddenly and inexplicably, and the repairs made by the Lebanese dentist in Bamako to the veneer on my front left tooth crunched and crumbled on my tongue.

Anyway. We have been on our whirlwind holiday tour for two weeks. Will write more later. Today I am too busy lazing around reading, and eating cookies. No more peanut brittle, that's for sure.

I guess bad teeth are in the genes! Thanks dad... ;)

I can't take all the credit - but I have had my share of dental work. Most of it was due to poor habits and rich candy. Robin, I hope you are surviving this latest problem. The timing was good, however.

Eric got the bad teeth in our family(from Dad) you two should be a great enamel reproducers(word?) But in all honesty wasn't it worth the stories? I love Dr. Ely! There is no greater cliche in all of American dentistdom(word?)

I especially love the little library with red leather chairs, that smells like Dr. Ely just extinguished his pipe.
