Pros and Cons

It's good to be in America ...

  1. Elevators.
  2. Ketchup packets.
  3. Broccoli.
  4. Burritos.
  5. Bookstores.
  6. Cracklin' Oat Bran.
  7. Dad's new convertible.
  8. Worry-free tap water.
  9. High-speed Internet access.

... most of the time.

  1. Big box stores where fields and trees used to be.

  2. Thousands of big SUVs on the highway.

  3. One person in each of those SUVs.

  4. People complaining about "high" gas prices. Do you have any idea how much the rest of the world pays?* Please, see items 2-3 above.

*Currently gas costs $5.54/gallon in the UK. It's only $5.10/gallon in France ... and $2.13/gallon in the US.

We're just spoiled. Plain and simple.

But I kinda like it that way.

I like being an American.

Forget ketchup packets -- America is the home of ketchup in squeeze bottles. After all, it does count as a vegetable (according to some administrations).

My boyfriend considers it a vegetable - the only one he eats.

Back off.

Is the tap water around here really worry-free? Because I worry about it constantly.
