The word "blog" has grown on me since I first registered with Blogger many moons ago, but it still reminds me unpleasantly of a nickname given our Publications and Web Group by our former Creative Director: Wubs. Ewww. The formal name, though it was clearly cumbersome, was at least dignified and descriptive. The only thing I liked about "wubs" was what we could call a member of the group working from home: a telewubby.
