DC is so diverse in so many ways, and yet you never see the kind of people you see in Tidewater Virginia. The Virginia Beach boardwalk on Saturday was warm and sunny and full of crewcut young men with their mothers and girlfriends, having their last bit of fun before shipping out. Fighter jets from NAS cruised overhead periodically, out of sight before you could figure out where they were. We cruised by rollerblade, 80 blocks roundtrip.
