This guy -- who sounds like he never read a blog before he researched his article -- seeks to exploit blogs for marketing purposes. I guess someone would think of it eventually. Thank god he makes it sound so ridiculous. Megnut says it better than I can:
What's interesting to me is the language of the article, it's very us vs. them, marketers vs. blogs and bloggers. It doesn't seem to consider that marketers may keep blogs themselves (unless they're encouraged to by the writer of this article, "You should consider encouraging employees to read and participate in blogs..."), or that people are people and some have blogs. It's like he's talking about an alien species or something in a remote African jungle. Can't you just hear the narrative voice-over? "When participating in an interactive blog, it is unwise to attempt to directly market a product." It sounds just like, "When approaching a western lowland gorilla, it is unwise to attempt direct communication with the alpha male." Cue National Geographic music, fade to black.
