If you live in Washington, DC, and you're interested in politics (and not in a wonky way), bookmark DC Metro Action. It's a sort of clearinghouse of local action opportunities. You can volunteer, demonstrate, protest, or rally your every waking hour, whether you're passionate about DC voting rights, affordable housing, or peace. I find the information about local issues invaluable, since they so often get overlooked by our local newspapers. Check back often, though, or you'll miss out: I found out too late about last night's screening of "Washington Interns Gone Bad" at the Black Cat.
